When logged in and push the user button there is no menu so the current user can not logout.

I am not able to reproduce the conditions that will produce that behavior. Attached is what I see with screen of the VFX module with a regular user. How is yours different?

I took the 4.7 version of VM and "updated" to 4.8
What I did is stopped the service copy the tactic folder in to the /opt/tactic/tactic
upgraded the db and start the service again

My screenshot I had attached is using 4.8.0.b01. I am trying to figure out what you are seeing that is different from my screenshot. The user icon on the right, when clicked, pops up a menu that allows you log out.

wired on the laptop I have the issue I described on the main pc it works as expected.
On the Laptop I can create a project, on the main it says ERROR: Search type sthpw/project is not related to search_type sthpw/snapshot
